Niagara County Children's Mental Health Programs

New Directions’ Children’s Mental Health Programs (CMHP) offer community-based programs where providers meet youth and families at home, school, or other community locations. The Children’s Mental Health Program team works with youth and families to identify their specific needs and refer them to the right resources to help support those needs. Our team also provides advocacy for families with school, probation, and court.

Community Crisis Intervention

Community Crisis Intervention (CCI) is a short-term program lasting 5-10 weeks. Community Crisis Intervention (CCI) works to assist the family regain stability, especially after a crisis.  Community Crisis Intervention also works to link families with long term services that will help the family to maintain stability after the program period ends. Referrals for Community Crisis Intervention (CCI) are accessed through Niagara County Department of Mental Health Crisis Services and/or Children’s Single Point of Access (CSPOA).

Non-Medicaid Care Management

Non-Medicaid Care Management is a long-term program that works with children who qualify as Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED). Referrals for Non-Medicaid Care Management are accessed through Children’s Single Point of Access (CSPOA).

Children's Mobile Crisis Outreach

The primary goal of Mobile Crisis is to evaluate for lethality and assist in safety planning for the future. Mobile Crisis is activated through Niagara County Department of Mental Health Crisis Services.
