Children and Family Treatment and Support Services

Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) consist of licensed therapists and non-licensed counselors working with youth and families in community-based settings. The role of the service providers is to support youth with mental and behavioral health related concerns as well as to assist in alleviating symptoms and improving functioning.

In other words, providers work as community mental health specialists, going where youth and families are, rather than individuals going to a clinic for services. They work with youth and families on their own identified goals with the end goal to have youth and families be self-reliant and able to manage their symptoms without counseling.

(Accepts Self-Referrals)

Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) accepts referrals for youth ages 0 to 21 from any source, including: self-referrals, schools, pediatricians, case managers, therapists, and any other persons working with a child in need. We serve Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties.

At New Directions, we believe that youth should be able to participate in their own treatment. Youth seeking services may already have a mental health diagnosis or symptoms of a diagnosis potentially developing. The goal for these services is to assist with alleviating symptoms and improving functioning.
