New Directions is an agency skilled at delivering impactful services to children and families. Our dedicated staff empower children experiencing social, emotional, and educational challenges, and their families. More than 20 teams manage a continuum of services across the eight counties of Western New York.

New Directions heritage dates back 150 years with a proven record of responding to the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve. New Directions Youth and Family Services was created in 1999 by a merger of the Wyndham Lawn Home for Children (Lockport, NY) and the Randolph Children’s Home (Randolph, NY), both of whom began caring for children in the 1870s. Today, in addition to providing children with residences where they may flourish and grow, New Directions brings a full array of services into the homes of families across Western New York.

Our services include youth residential living; traditional and therapeutic foster care, adoption, supervised independent living; agency operated boarding homes; therapeutic educational services (preK-12), and community-based treatment, preventive, and mental health services. We are “fostering good” for more than 2,500 children each year.

We are grateful for generous supporters like you, who empower children and families to build a foundation of hope, healing, and opportunity. Thank you for fostering good!

New Directions’ mission is to foster resilient, self-reliant families and permanence for at-risk children in the shortest time possible, by promoting safe, respectful, responsible, and goal-directed behavior.
